Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 June 2026

Likewise Electrical ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you contact us through this website or engage us for electrical work, how we use that information, and the choices you have about it.

This policy is written in plain English and is informed by the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). While we are a small business that may not strictly fall within the scope of the Act, we follow these principles as a baseline standard of care.

1. What information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

Information you give us directly

When you submit the General Enquiry form on this website, we receive:

When you submit the Book a Job form, we additionally receive:

If you contact us by phone, email, SMS, or in person, we may also collect any information you choose to share — for example, details about the property, photos, or scope of works.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics to understand how our website is used — for example, which pages get the most visits and roughly where in the world our visitors come from. This helps us improve the site over time. Google Analytics collects:

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this. The information collected is aggregated and we cannot personally identify you from it. Google's own privacy policy explains how they handle the data they collect — see policies.google.com/privacy.

If you'd rather not be tracked by Google Analytics on any website, you can install the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Most browsers also let you block or clear cookies in their settings.

Apart from Google Analytics, we don't use advertising tags, retargeting pixels, or session storage.

If you use the address autocomplete in the booking form, the text you type is sent to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service to return suggestions. We don't receive or store anything from that lookup — it happens directly between your browser and OpenStreetMap. Their privacy practices are available on the OSM Foundation website.

How forms actually work: When you submit either form, the website opens your own email app (Mail, Gmail, Outlook etc.) with a pre-filled message to tyson@likewiseelectrical.au. You then press Send yourself. Nothing is transmitted to us until you do that, and the email travels through your own email provider, not ours.

2. How we use your information

We use the information you share with us to:

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing you with electrical services, unless you have given us clear permission.

3. Who we share information with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

We may share limited information with third parties only where it is necessary to do our work or comply with the law, including:

We will release information to law enforcement or government agencies only where we are legally required to do so.

4. How we store and protect your information

Your contact details and job records are kept in:

We take reasonable steps to keep this information secure, including using strong passwords, device locks, and reputable software providers. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so while we do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep job and customer records for as long as is needed to:

You may ask us to delete records earlier — see "Your rights" below — and we will do so unless we are required to retain them by law.

6. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

Just email tyson@likewiseelectrical.au or call 0420 675 356 and let us know.

7. Children

This site and our services are intended for adults arranging electrical work for their home or business. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if the services we offer or the tools we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be brought to your attention where reasonable.

9. Contact
